Day 1 - Monday 28th April |
Fly to Havana from London via a fun(!) windy landing in Madrid. |
Day 2 - Tuesday |
City tour of old & new Havana including the Plaza de la Revolución & lunch at la Bodeguita. |
Day 3 - Wednesday |
Day trip to Vinales Valley. |
Day 4 - Thursday |
To Cienfuegos. Lunch on the beach at Punta Perdices. Overnight at Guajimico (The Cuban Butlins!). Drink lots and dance embarrassingly. |
Day 5 - Friday |
To Trinidad to meet 'Skippy' the dog. City tour, chill out and then a relatively civilised (compared to the next one) evening of singing & dancing. |
Day 6 - Saturday |
Catamaran to the island of Cayo Macho. Meet 'Skippy' the tree rat and his iguana pals. In the evening, I discover, that swigging straight from a bottle of rum has consequences! Lots of singing (and pole dancing!) into the early hours of the morning. |
Day 7 - Sunday |
Casualties abound but we
still manage to visit the national park in the Escambray valley on board
a Russian truck. No more complaining about our coach after this! We
almost lose Jorge-Luis off the back of the truck! To historic Santa Clara
city with the wonderfully interesting train museum, the closed Ché
mausoleum and excellent history lesson from 'George' that makes up for it
all. PS: The book Jorge-Luis recommended can be bought here. |
Day 8 - Monday |
Back to Havana for a free afternoon, final cocktail and shopping spree. Try and spend all money left. Depart Havana. |
Day 9 - Tuesday |
London. |
